Equipment Used for Training
Equipment to be used for class A instruction will be a tandem axle, Volvo-GMC Detroit Diesel with air brakes and a road ranger 9 speed split shift transmission. The trailer will be a 48 foot, tandem axle box trailer. Class B vehicle will be a 24 foot box truck, air brakes, single axle, diesel engine with a 6-speed standard transmission.

Admission Requirements
Students must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for an intrastate or 21 years of age for an interstate commercial driver's license.

Students are required to meet all Federal Driver Qualification Standards as outlined in 49CFR Part 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Students must be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language. Students must abide by student rules and requirements as explained the first training session.

Accelerated course students must possess a valid Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP) with appropriate endorsements and a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical card.

If you are interested in starting a new career as a Professional Truck Driver but have little or no experience, this comprehensive Professional Truck Driver Training program is for you. Our curriculum is based upon the FHWA Model Curriculum and meets the PTDI curriculum standards. This outstanding program includes classroom, lab, range, behind-the-wheel instruction and home study. The program begins in the classroom, focusing on the basics of the trucking industry and preparation for obtaining your Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP). Classroom instruction also introduces students to vehicle familiarization, basic systems, Federal Motor Carrier Regulations, defensive driving, trip planning, map reading, logbook instruction, and more. We have also incorporated a home study segment that allows each student to reinforce the classroom instruction and study at their own pace. Lab and Range instruction offers students a hands-on learning experience. Lab instruction will cover vehicle familiarization, vehicle inspection, coupling and uncoupling, blind spot awareness, space management, etc. Range instruction will include shifting, forward and backing maneuvers, alley docking, parallel parking, forward and reverse serpentine, and more. (Instructors always stress the importance of safety in and around vehicles and skills area). Upon successful completion of the Lab and Range program, students will advance to the On-road skills training. On-road instruction will consist of urban, city, rural, and interstate driving. During this time, each student will have the opportunity to observe and practice real life driving experiences in the big rig. Students will receive more behind-the-wheel time than at most other schools. After completion of our training program, you will need to pass the State of Michigan Skills Test (Michigan Residents ONLY) to obtain your CDL License.

CDL REFRESHER COURSE
$775.00 - FOR EXPERIENCED CDL DRIVERS ONLY!
This training program is for CDL Class A applicants who have extensive experience backing a combination vehicle and shifting a split speed transmission or Class B applicants who have experience backing a box truck and shifting a standard transmission experience. This program consists of four (4) hours of one-on-one instruction in pre-trip inspection, range and road maneuvers.

ACCELERATED CDL CLASS B COURSE
$1,150.00
This training course is for CDL Class B applicants with little or no experience. This 12 hour program consists of two (2) four (4) hour sessions of one-on-one instruction in pre-trip inspection, range and road driving maneuvers, log books, shifting, clutch operation and 4 hours of home study.

ACCELERATED CDL CLASS A PREPARATION TRAINING
$1375.00
This training course is designed for applicants needing minimal training to prepare for CDL licensing. Course consists of 12 hours of one-on-one instruction in vehicle inspection, basic maneuvers and road driving. Applicants must have previous experience backing a trailer and shifting a manual splitter transmission.


ACCELERATED CDL CLASS A COURSE
CDL Class A: $1675.00
This training course is for CDL Class A applicants with experience backing a trailer and operating a standard transmission. This 24 hour course consists of 16 hours of one-on-one instruction and 8 hours of home study. The training consists of pre-trip inspection, splitter and clutch operation, range maneuvers and over the road instruction.

CDL Class A: $1995.00
This training course is for CDL Class A applicants with little or no commercial driving experience. This 30 hour course consists of 20 hours of one-on-one instruction and 12 hours of home study. The training consists of pre-trip inspection, shifting, splitter and clutch operation, trailer coupling and uncoupling, log book, range maneuvers and over the road instruction.

NOTE: Students are under no obligation to take their road skills test with ABC Training and Testing. ABC's commercial graduates wishing to test with us will receive one (1) complimentary road skills test with our truck. Applicants must have valid class A Temporary Permit with air brakes and D.O.T. physical.

P & D (Pick-up and Delivery) Driver Training Course
$800.00
This non-CDL training program is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to qualify for a pickup and/or delivery route driving position. This program consists of 6 days, 53 hours of instruction in classroom, lab, range maneuvers, and over-the-road driving.
